Southwest Style
Baker-Laporte and Associates has specialized in home design since 1986.
Our projects have ranged from grand (+10,000 square feet) to humble (1,000
square feet). We live and work in the Land of Enchantment and we have been
gratefully influenced by the enchanting architectural forms that surround
us.
The rich, handcrafted traditions of the Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico
design styles lend themselves well to a variety of alternative, energy efficient
and healthy building systems. We have become adept at design with adobe, pumicecrete,
straw bale, straw/clay, and aerated auto claved concrete. Our designs combine
these mass wall systems with durable non-toxic finishes, ample cross ventilation,
indoor/outdoor living, water and air filtration, and electro-magnetic field
protection. Baker-Laporte and Associates has designed many homes in the Southwest
style. Here is a selection of our work.
